Dr. Dustin D. Turley, DBA, HRM | Business Owner | Savage Fitness

Driven by his dedication to time management, discipline, and helping a wide range of people get in shape, Dr. Dustin D. Turley, DBA, HRM wields expertise in strength training and CrossFit as well as six licenses to provide fitness training for youth, geriatric, rehabilitative, and nutrition coaching. Since 2022, he has excelled as the owner of Savage Fitness, based in Scott City, Kansas, through which he focuses on strength and conditioning and corrective fitness through structured programs; in addition, he also offers personal training sessions to anybody by traveling to their homes or through online services.

Since 1994, Dr. Turley has been active as the co-founder of RT-Plumbing, where his father serves as the master plumber. He not only handles the company’s finances and management but wrote up the business plan as well. In the midst of his time focused on the business, he has accrued years of professional experience in aging and disability services, working in such roles as a physician assistant, vocational coordinator, and administrative head of different departments—boosted by a bachelor’s degree in general psychology and a Master of Liberal Arts in organizational leadership from Fort Hays State University. Shifting gears, he earned a Master of Business Administration in public administration from Northcentral University in 2017 and ultimately a doctorate in business administration and human resource management with top honors, from the institution in 2022. Bolstering his credentials as a trainer are certifications in group and geriatric fitness, a strength and conditioning licensure from the International Sports Science Association, and status as an Elite Master as a fitness trainer, among several other specializations.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Dr. Turley considers his most notable accomplishment to be the completion of his doctoral dissertation, which proved to be a challenging task. His primary research focused on burnout among full-time university faculty, examining the impact of years of teaching experience on their work engagement behaviors. Looking toward the future, he strives to open his own gym in Scott City and expand his online business worldwide to train college, professional, and elite athletes remotely.
